What a(nother) day! Started with 06:00h taxi to Mina (port) to enquire about our ship(s). Come back at 4 PM! Taxi to Hotel Zawra Arish Resort. Spoke to Carl (in WC) from Reception. We have 2 ships. There are 3 berths at port. One will become free (for our first ship) around 12:00h (noon) for our first ship which is now just outside the harbour. Our second ship will enter when our first ship leaves. Our convoy (ambulances and other vehicles) are as deck cargo. No Ro-Ro so offloading by crane. All vehicles to be off-loaded before any (=all) can leave port (together). Returned to “our” (= me + 10 Turks) hotel (written Sinai Stars but pronounced Sinai Sun!) in town centre. Took directions for old railway station (across Wadi al Kabir ?) which turned out to be Taxi station. Found Railway Station – mostly obstructed by subsequent house-building. Called at Mairie and took tea with his PA Ali Galltmi Ali – his daughter was #1 Engineering graduate and returned to work in Al-Arish (more Ch’ti?). Agreed that Gaza City (including Port – + airport?) should work with Al-Arish, wherever possible: eg construct Ro-Ro and Hovercraft at Gaza, not another port like Al-Arish.
